Located just 6 miles south of the center of Warner Robins is the town of Bonaire.  Bonaire was formed in 1888 when the the Georgia Southern and Florida railway came through town and brought with it new development and new residents.  Early records from 1888 spell the name of the city without the final "e", but in 1889 the modern spelling began to be used.
